Obama Places Hurricane Over Politics

Democratic nominee, Barack Obama pushed thousands of supporters to donate to the Red Cross to help the victims of Hurricane Gustav. Obama pushed back the labor day speeches to focus on the Hurricane incident. "Instead of a speech, what I'd like to do is ask all of us to join in some silent prayer for all those who are spending this labor day in a shelter waiting for another storm to pass," Obama stated at an outdoor rally. "There's a time for us to argue politics, but there's a time for us to come together as Americans," Obama also stated. Obama e-mailed and text messaged thousands of supporters asking to donate whatever they can afford to the Red Cross so they have enough resources to help the victims of Hurricane Gustav.

I like the layout, but the pink text on purple background is a little hard to read. Try to stay with a clean background that supports reading of the story.
About the story, I like how you inserted a photo alongside the posting. This is a good example of news reporting, in which you cover the key facts and use the details to tell a whole story. The message as I understand it, is Obama is calling for unity in a time of emergency. And he is using the current technologies to reach out to people. Nice work!
